Thomas C Herbert is the Founder and Lead Engineer of Cage Cube Technologies, Inc. Started in 2016, Cage Cube started as a consulting firm and evolved into a full Managed Services Company. In 2017 Cage Cube built its first Data Center in Bristol, TN where we offer colocation and host many services for the small to medium business space. Cage Cube has technical resources available to support any physical or virtual infrastructure.
Tom was also the Chief Technology Officer until February 2023 at Florida Peninsula Managers, LLC, the MGA for Florida Peninsula Insurance and Edison Insurance, Florida-based property insurance companies. Mr. Herbert, a eighteen-year veteran, is responsible for developing the overall technology vision as well as being the primary technical resource for systems design and integration. In addition to systems design, he leads a team of IT professionals with disciplines in Database Management, Systems and Network Virtualization, Storage Area Networking (SAN) and Converged Data Networks.
Prior to transitioning to the CTO role in 2005, Mr. Herbert served as the Director of IT for the US division of Stratos Global Corporation, a global leader in satellite communications. At Stratos, Mr. Herbert managed the complex Information Technology systems used by several regional offices and designed and developed the composite infrastructures used to support satellite data and voice services. In this role, Tom was the first to successfully implement ISDN on-board ship and give full speed video solutions to expeditions on Mount Everest via satellite. In addition, he provided design and administration to shipboard email solutions for the US Navy Fleet and to private corporations such as Disney, Alcoa, and Subway.
In his early years as a Systems Administrator, Herbert held many consulting positions.
