He holds a PhD in Business Studies (Business Management) from Punjabi University, India, alongside an MBA in International Business and a BA in Development Management, reflecting a strong interdisciplinary academic foundation.
Professionally, Dr. Habtamu has served in several senior leadership and technical roles, including Director of Training and Development at CaFEC, Assistant Professor of Management, Academic Vice President of Alpha University College, Vice Dean for Research, Community Service & Postgraduate Studies, and Marketing and Strategy Expert with ICOS Consulting. His career demonstrates a balance of academic excellence and practical consultancy experience, especially in strategic planning, feasibility studies, project management, marketing strategy, organizational restructuring, and capacity development.
Dr. Habtamu has delivered a wide range of high-impact trainings across the public and private sectors—including leadership and change management, customer service excellence, project management, entrepreneurship development, and strategic management. Notably, he is a UNCTAD–EMPRETEC Certified National Entrepreneurship Trainer, having delivered numerous Entrepreneurship Training Workshops (ETWs) across Ethiopia, impacting youth, MSMEs, TVET instructors, and public-sector employees.
