I work in IT nearly 20 years. Started as a engineer (2006-2015), grew into manager (Project Manager, Delivery Manager, Resource Manager). Working on managerial positions last 10 years (2015 - present).
At the moment I combine the roles of Delivery Manager and Resource Manager. Activities I’m involved in:
* Presales: estimation sessions, preparing proposals, planning PDWs
* Delivery Management: staffing, negotiations with clients around project conditions and growth, upsale, risk management, account KPI control)
* Resource management (62 engineers & managers): hiring, KPI control and improvement, attrition risks management, team motivation in collaboration with HR, diversification of expertise (Salesforce dev + DevOps/NodeJS for work with SF integrations; NodeJS + Golang to extend number of projects employee can fit, FE + BE)
Good in planning and risk management, hiring and working with existing employees, working with the clients. Prefer data-driven approach for planning and decision making:
* Started department from 0, during the 1st year have found and hired 50% of employees on my own due to limited recruitment capacity.
* Developed a data-driven approach for managing attrition risks by measuring and building data based assumptions on employees satisfaction level, combining this information with activity on labor market and getting risk score for each employee.
* Introduced advanced account KPI model which eventually has been adopted by one of the clients for their internal use. Goals: meeting the deadlines, cost/capacity management, early risk detection, improving relations with the client.
* Started and coordinated initiative on designing internal delivery framework for managing fix-price projects
Entrepreneurial experience:
* Led independent development team which was customizing browser based game for Danish client. 5 months engagement with legal help of outsourcing partner.
* Managed full web-dev business cycle within small (20 employees) agency: sales, legal, development.
