Sigrid Arteaga is a Berlin-based creative director and cultural strategist with a passion for storytelling, community building, and cross-cultural communication. Currently serving as Director of Special Projects at Novalis Medienhaus since May 2024, she brings over a decade of experience leading initiatives that connect people across borders through media, dialogue, and innovation.
Originally from Mexico and born in 1983, Sigrid began her international career at the Mexican Embassy in Germany, where she worked on cultural diplomacy projects aimed at strengthening bilateral ties through art, education, and public engagement. This experience deeply shaped her commitment to intercultural exchange and continues to inform her work today.
She is the visionary behind Plus Forty Nine, a platform designed to support expats and migrants in Germany through workshops, podcasts, and multilingual media. Her work often focuses on helping individuals in the "adjustment" phase of cultural adaptation feel understood, empowered, and equipped to thrive in their new environment.
With a background in international media and project leadership, Sigrid is also the creator of Xpat Berlin, a radio program spotlighting local talent, and the Surviving Berlin Journal, a printed publication aimed at promoting preventive mental health among migrants.
