Dr. Smith has a Doctor of Public Health from Mercer University along with a Master of Public Health from the same institution and a Pre-Clinical Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences from the University of Central Florida. She has published research in the Journal of Racial and Ethnic Health Disparities during her tenure as a Graduate Research Assistant at Mercer University. Dr. Smith also has research and evaluation experience in various positions, including at BLKHLTH, African Population Health Research Centre, the National Network of Public Health Institutes, Girl Plus Environment, and the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services Equity Technical Assistance Center.
