Karel is an experienced real estate project and development manager with a demonstrated history working in the property development and construction industries. In addition, he is currently highly involved in higher educational training related to the full value chain of the built environment.
He started his career at First National Bank in the Branch and ATM network planning division. Over the span of 14 years at the bank, Karel worked in various departments/divisions of the bank gaining valuable analytical, project management and general business experience. He ended his career at the Bank, heading the advanced analytics and data-modelling department. Before joining the Calgro M3 Developments listed property development company, Karel was heading the ECE project developments company, a subsidiary of a property syndication and investment business, providing programme and project management services to both the property development and information technology environments. His entrepreneurial intent is evident in initiating the O5 Projects (Pty) Ltd consulting company where various projects were and are still managed. Before Karel’s current engagement, he held a position as Project and Development Management Principle within the Real Estate Division at Bigen Africa engineering company. He currently is the owner of O5 Projects (Pty) Ltd consulting company and part owner of the Career Excel Academy (Pty) Ltd a registered private higher educational institution focussing on training courses in the built environment.
