Dr. Danai Georgiadou is a scientist and thought leader in cellular agriculture, with a strong foundation in developmental and reproductive biology. She earned her PhD studying placental biology, where her research uncovered key molecular regulators of trophoblast differentiation and contributed to our understanding of pregnancy-related disorders such as preeclampsia. Currently based at A*STAR in Singapore, Dr. Georgiadou leads primary cell line development for cultivated meat and seafood, specializing in adipose-derived stem cells from porcine, avian, and crustacean species.
Beyond the lab, Danai is passionate about driving sustainable food innovation, supporting women’s health through tech-driven solutions, and advocating for science-based policies in climate and food systems.
