Ben is the director at ESG Training & Advisory, where he helps organisations surface, structure, and manage the operational, social, and governance risks that emerge when businesses operate in complex, high-threat environments. He brings a practitioner's perspective to ESG – grounded in field delivery, not desk theory – drawn from over 20 years' experience across multiple sectors and geographies, with a specialism in African operations.
His main focus is where ESG reporting frameworks meet operational reality, especially in the "S" and "G" pillars: the visible non-technical risks of physical and personnel security, duty of care, human rights and security (Voluntary Principles / VPSHR), crisis and business continuity management, supply chain and contractor integrity, and corporate governance under elevated-threat conditions. Ben advises and trains executive teams on aligning programmes with ISO 31000, ISO 22301, ISO 45001, IFC Performance Standards, the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, and disclosure regimes including ISSB, TCFD, CSRD, and ESRS — translating standards into board-ready policies, plans, and assurance-tested controls.
He holds an MSc in Security Risk Management, is MBCI (with merit), an M_o_R practitioner (aligned with ISO 31000), PFSO certified, and holds a CPP and the NEBOSH National Diploma.
