Martha is a seasoned biotech executive with over two decades of experience across research, drug development, medical affairs, strategy, operations, and business development. She has held pivotal roles at organizations including Arcellx, MedImmune, AstraZeneca, and Mass General Brigham Innovation, where she led cross-functional teams advancing complex biologics, cell, and gene therapies from early research through clinical development and commercial launch.
She earned her PhD in Immunology from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, completed her undergraduate studies at Johns Hopkins University, and completed her postdoctoral fellowship at the National Cancer Institute, where she received the NIH Fellows Award for Research Excellence.
Motivated by a close friend’s battle with cancer, Martha founded Aloe Therapeutics to pioneer a first-in-class, localized therapy that harnesses transplant rejection biology to “bait” the immune system, restore anti-tumor immunity, and improve outcomes for patients with advanced disease and limited treatment options.
