Born and raised in Johannnesburg, Theuns started his career in logistics, before he joined Media24 back in 2002. With a long track record in media advertising sales, and managing national sales teams, Theuns was offered an opportunity to move to Cape Town in 2011. He uprooted his family from Pretoria and started his new journey as a Publisher on most of Media24’s titles. He was also the publisher on Huisgenoot Skouspel from 2012 to 2015, where he learned more about showbusiness and the music industry, from managing sponsor’s and muso’s expectations, to managing the project as a whole. The last 10 years of Theuns’s career at Media24 (2012 to 2022), he was the publisher of the agricultural titles of Media24, including Landbouweekblad, SA Jagter/Hunter and Man Magnum Magazines. He has a track record of developing and growing Landbouweekblad from only a magazine and website to a renowned brand with various brand extensions, ranging from TV productions, conferences, Farmer’s days and several printed brand extensions. He has a strong entrepreneurial spirit with a reputation for identifying opportunities and establishing three successful businesses whilst managing Create Hub, an initiative within Media24, to identify investment opportunities within different industries outside of media. During his tenure, Media24 invested in 3 opportunities - goHustle, a platform for women focusing on entrepreneurial growth, d6 Rides trading as Zipalong – a teen ride-sharing service, as well as LevelFox, Media24’s own gaming platform. During his further post graduate studies during 2022, Theuns decided to exit the corporate space and started his own media consulting company. He’s currently still publishing two magazines for SA Hunt Publishing, and resides as a director of SA Hunt Publishing, a division of the SA Hunters and Game Conservation of South Africa.
