Gerthrode Charlotte Mabilog is the Director of the Information and Publications Office of the University of the Philippines Visayas, one of the nine constituent universities of the University of the Philippines that is known as the national university of the country. Furthermore, she is a veteran broadcast journalist in her city, spending more than 15 years in the country's biggest television network.
