Inherently diverse as a woman of color, I have experienced the impact of being othered throughout my childhood. Feeling like I belong was a foreign concept. I therefore spent most of my childhood and early adolescent years perpetuating an immense desire to explain how I’m different, whether in terms of the Hindu culture and customs, religious preferences, or simply describing our native attire. Of course, all of this made me feel a huge sense of pride.
Fast forward to the world we live in today and considering how the workplace has become significantly more diverse, I ask myself, “is this all at the expense of a sense of belonging and feeling respected despite our differences?” This question sets the foundation for my deep desire to career pivot into Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB). I want to be at the forefront of instituting much needed change in this space, no matter how difficult or challenging.
Tackling challenges as a problem solver has been an underlying theme of my career from full-cycle sales to currently project management with the federal government. Whether understanding pain points or addressing the needs of my most recent federal government clients, I continue to maintain a collaborative, yet strong work ethic.
The transferable skills I bring as I seek to become a key contributor in the DEI space include:

I am particularly passionate about disability and LGBTQ+ inclusion. These two very marginalized communities deserve to be seen, heard and most importantly valued.
