Carlos Aguilar is a sound artist and music composer for immersive media from Costa Rica, and since 2020, he has been the Brand Ambassador for Steinberg Nuendo in Latin America.
He began his training as a classical guitarist and musician at the University of Costa Rica, later continuing through self-study and multiple specializations, including Berklee Online Music School. He has over 20 years of experience in post-production, working as a musician and sound artist at Producciones 921 for ten years under the supervision of Hit Productions. He then became the founder of La Cabina S.A. and A Tropics Company, where he currently splits his work between sound supervisor, composer, and mix engineer for video games, installations, and films in immersive, surround, and Dolby Atmos formats. Some of his projects include the films "La Boda del Tigre" and "Presos" by Esteban Ramirez, the television series "Sons Of Thunder" from Pureflix, "Cascos Indomables" by Neto Villalobos, "Stay Here Awhile" by Carlo Nasisse, "First Lady Of The Revolution" by Andrea Kalin, and "Gigi" by Erika Bagnarello, for which he traveled to Skywalker Sound studios to participate in the mixing process with Malcolm Fife. He has composed music for video games such as "NeoSprint" by Atari, some themes for "TMNT: Wrath Of The Mutants," "Nickelodeon All Star Brawler 1," and his most recent project as a composer is the video game "Nickelodeon All Star Brawl" by Game Mill Entertainment, which have been nominated for the VGA in the fighting games category.More...
