Barbara Cunha is a Brazilian producer, filmmaker, and screenwriter, and she studied filmmaking with Béla Tárr
e Apichatpong Weerasethakul.
Barbara is owner of 99 Produções a production company in Brazil, with the aim of producing audiovisual works
that have technical and artistic quality for the national and international markets. In her international co-
productions, she aims to fully involve the participating countries not only focusing on the financial support, but
also in the artistic and technical collaborations between the partners.
Barbara directed the feature documentary Prison Flowers (2019), and 6 documentaries series for Brazilian
television and produced several audiovisual works, between features, shorts and tv series.
Barbara is frequently part of international film festivals and labs, such as Torino Film Lab, Marché du Film,
Ventana Sur, Doc Lisbon, Berlinale Co-Production Market, Sao Paulo International Film Festival.
Her current documentary God is a Woman - in post-production - was presented at Docs in Progress at Cannes
