Pavan Mukhi is an internationally acclaimed musician, A&R, events curator, mentor & record
label owner, and philanthropist. With over 20 years of achievements in the industry that have
allowed him to stay ahead of the curve throughout his musical ventures, Pavan’s
underground presence has shifted and expanded musical culture across the world in
multiple profound ways. This includes the evolution of rap & electronic music as a genre
throughout India, Europe, and North America.
Pavan started his career playing in metal and grunge bands in Dubai in the 90s. In ‘96 he
reconnected with his childhood friend and future bandmate and business partner Dag
Nabbit. Both started developing hip hop & trip-hop tracks together with his crew SKA. Soon
after discovering Jungle & D&B, They started releasing mixtapes and throwing underground
raves in Dubai with the intention of moving to London to start a record label. After several
years on the hip-hop circuit, pirate stations and up and coming raves, Dag & Pav teamed up
to start a promotion in Oslo and London’s UCL called Crisis where they booked the likes of
Dj Teebee Andy C, Grooverider, DJ Rap, Skibadee, Ed Rush and Optical & many more.
After several years known as MC Drop, he adopted the persona, Orifice Vulgatron. In 2002,
the duo teamed up with DJ Nonames and Metropolis to create the legendary UK rap group
known as Foreign Beggars and label Dented Records.
In 2003, the group released their first single, Where Did The Sun Go which received 5-star
reviews across the board from Dj Mag, HipHop Connection, NME & More. By 2004, the
group garnered the “Best New Act”, and in 2005 titled “Best Group” at the Lyric Pad Hip Hop
Awards. These early achievements cemented that although the group was new, by doing its
own thing, bringing together a unique, refreshing sound & paving a new way forward for
underground hip hop in the United Kingdom. Foreign Beggars received the “Best Newcomer”
Award in 2003 and the “Best Single” award in 2004 for the track, Hold On. Nominated for
