Apr. 2004 - Jul. 2007• Lead a disaster recovery operation for the Executive Offices of the President - United States. Took the lead role in first stabilizing the existing infrastructure to provide enough time to rebuild the entire MS Exchange environment for the EOP after a catastrophic SAN failure within the environment. Brought in a team of eight engineers and commanded the design, implementation and migration to five new MS Exchange 2003 clusters running on a new EMC DMX3000 SAN. Successfully performed the triage and standup of new systems with migration of 2,500 mailboxes in less than 96 hours with less than 60 minutes of down time for the most critical Presidential staff.
• Team lead on the design and deploy of the US Department of Health and Human Services Enterprise Email System (HHS EES). Involved in the design through standup process. The system serves 120,000+ accounts. Key roles include Active Directory design and deployment, Senior Exchange Engineer, ISA server design & integration, Sybari Antigen deployment, Tumbleweed (anti-spam) deployment, OWA server farm design & integration, RSA SecureID integration and BlackBerry design and integration. Integral in certification and accreditation process including security validation of all Exchange components.
• Hired and managed 14 Microsoft Solutions Specialist supporting the HHS EES contract. Responsibilities included managing SLAs from outside providers including ISPs, hardware and applications vendors as well as internal business units providing support services to the contract.
• Team lead for a Microsoft Exchange, SharePoint and Office Communications Server pilot at the City and County of San Francisco. The pilot includes 200 users being migrated from Lotus Notes to Exchange 2007 with SharePoint Services 2007 for Notes application migrations.
• Designed new Exchange 2007 infrastructure along with migration plan from Lotus Notes for 25,000 mailboxes at Armstrong Flooring Industries.
