The Mayors of the four Istrian municipalities signed, on July 5, 2019, a letter of intent aimed at a joint candidacy for European Capital of Culture 2025. The four municipalities are applying under the common banner “Piran-Pirano 4 Istria 2025”. The aim is to jointly promote cultural activities within a single cross-border destination that is part of a European-wide cultural tourist offer. The European Capital of Culture is the most successful cultural initiative in the EU. The title remains extremely popular and, since 1985, it has been awarded to more than 60 cities, including Athens, Liverpool, Istanbul, Florence, Amsterdam, Linz, Wroclaw and many more. Each year, two European cities from two different countries are awarded this title and become beacons of European cultural activity and cooperation. 2025: One city from Slovenia and one from Germany are set to be nominated as European Capitals of Culture.

All of this is provided by young people supported by a background web of organisations, networks and institutions who together form the Providers-for-Humans.

Sep. 2017 - Jun. 2018Cluj County, RomaniaThe aim of the project is to develop a participatory consultation process in five Romanian cities for identifying the needs and aspirations of young people in terms of civic participation by initiating local actions trough informal groups and decision-making mechanisms of participatory democracy. The overall objective of the project is to develop local ecosystems of youth participatory budgeting and to create a national participatory budgeting movement (Com'On Romania) by which informal groups of young people will gain access to financial support. SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES of the project are: O1: developing local youth ecosystems through the direct involvement of young people in consultations, through common thinking and through interaction with stakeholders, O2: encouraging young people to get involved in the solving of problems that arise in local communities through informal forms of association and collaboration, and through creating a framework of financial support for these initiatives O3: involving young people in the decision-making processes that affect them through mechanisms of direct participatory democracy, OD: (organizational development): developing the collaboration network of local and national partners for achieving a national platform for participatory budgeting mechanisms built on local youth. EXPECTED RESULTS IN NUMBERS * 350 young participants and decision makers involved in the structured dialogue mechanisms implemented in five cities, through which we identify the needs of young people and through which the premises of potential participatory budgeting mechanisms are going to be created * more than 75 organizations, stakeholders involved in the mechanism through direct meetings and interactions for completing the key activities of the project * 1500 people consulted using an online consultation process * 5 monitoring reports concerning the preparations on a local level for the implementation of the participatory budgeting mechanisms

În cadrul programului, autoritățile locale colaborează cu organizațiile neguvernamentale de și pentru tineret și cu mediul privat, și îi pun pe tineri în centrul procesului de dezvoltare urbană. Anual, un oraș din România primește, în urma unui concurs de concepte, titlul de Capitala Tineretului din România și este sprijinit financiar, respectiv prin formare și consultanță, în pregătirea și implementarea inițiativelor din dosarul de candidatură. Primul oraș din România care poartă titlul de Capitala Tineretului din România este Timișoara, care și-a asumat pionieratul programului în perioada 2 mai 2016 - 1 mai 2017. Mai mult, ediția din 2017 a programului se desfășoară sub Înaltul Patronaj al Președintelui României, Klaus Iohannis. Programul Capitala Tineretului din România a fost lansat în anul 2016.

Castle in Transylvania imagines the future by building on the principles of additionality, sustainability, complementarity person-to-person relations, which together form a network and a movement based on trust, shared values and a vision that takes the present (state of castles and mansions) as it is and puts it in the service of the future. The Castle in Transylvania project has set a goal of creating a network of experts within relevant fields, who can exchange and share information to help increase the sustainability of Romania's cultural heritage. The project aims to develop strategic thinking by examining the economic and social value of castles of Transylvania. Our organization will develop a local and regional plan to attract alternative resources necessary for the restoration of these buildings.
