Queen's University BelfastGraduate Research Assistant
Jan. 2020Belfast, United KingdomResponsible for reaserching the application of vascular organoids for the treatment of micro and macrovascular complications for patients with Type 2 Diabetes by implementing cell reprogramming protocols to obtain stem cells from mononuclear blood tissue and redifferentiate them to vascular tissue, in addition to identifying and develop protocols to expand the application to other diseases.
Major Achievements
∆ Successful creation of vascular organoids that, when implanted in biological models with induced ischemia, regenerate damaged tissue and improve circulation by up to 90%
∆ Design of a research protocol combining 3D printing technology with Organoids Vaculae for the creation of neovasculature that can later be implanted in biological models.
∆ Design of a clinical trial based on the creation of stem cell-coated stents for the treatment of acute coronary disease.
