Jul. 2016 - May. 2019Bothell, WARESPONSE PLANNER. Operational planner working within FEMA Region X (consisting of the states of Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Idaho) Response Division. Utilizing the six-phase standard planning process, national guidance including PPD-8, NIMS, NRF, and NDRF develops deliberate plans which support the Region’s goals of providing superlative response and recovery operations to mitigate a disaster’s effects on survivors. Incorporates new and emerging policy into current operations and planning projects. Engages stakeholders on daily basis for regional planning and response efforts; enhances coordination and understanding. In an Incident Management/Support role, works as a Planning Support Specialist/Future Planning Unit Lead/Deliberate Future Operational Planner within the Regional Response Coordination Center (RRCC) and deploys to the field as a deliberate operational planner. Develops and delivers training for regional, state, and tribal level personnel. As lead planner, manages teams through entire lifecycle of planning effort to ensure project goals and milestones are met resulting in a useful product supported by regional leadership. Supports departmental and interagency planning for domestic catastrophic scenarios and supports the production and execution of national strategic plans under a unified planning effort on domestic incidents that require a Federal response; extensive coordination with ESFs 1, 3, 6, and 8. Current projects include Region 10 Tribal Response Plan, All-Hazards Plan update, Emergency Repatriation, State of Washington Fuels Planning, State of Washington Disaster Medical System and Regional Catastrophic Port Recovery. Serves as planning team member and facilitator for own and other agencies' projects. Prepares detailed briefings and other detailed correspondence for presentation to senior leadership. State planning liaison to the state of Idaho. COR III.
