I did 20 years on active duty as a Contract Specialist, working my way up to a Superintendent in charge of enlisted personnel at a Contracting Squadron. After retiring, I was hired by the Air Force as a Team Lead over Service and Commodity contracts and a year later was promoted to Flight Chief over 2 teams including construction, service and commodity contracts. Now, I manage a team of 12 -14 military and civilian personnel on Construction contracts with a portfolio of over $100M in contracts. I assign workload, review packages/solicitations and awards to ensure all contain the proper documents, clauses and other related information. I create and hold monthly flight training in order to improve the contract administrators knowledge and the products they produce. I train other contracting officers and am a member of the squadron warrant board. We conduct Source Selections using both Lowest Price Technically Acceptable and Performance Price Tradeoff procedures.

Mar. 2007 - Jan. 2009I was active duty military from 1988 to 2009, all in the Contracting career field. My last position was the Superintendent at Barksdale Air Force Base where I managed all enlisted affairs. I also acted as the squadron's first sergeant. I maintained many management programs to include the training program, the unit deployment manager program and unit manning documents. I was the top enlisted member in the squadron and worked directly for the squadron Commander.
