Sep. 2017 - Mar. 2020Phoenix, Arizona AreaI had the honor of serving as the Policy Advisor for Commissioner Lea Marquez Peterson, and formerly Commissioner Andy Tobin of the Arizona Corporation Commission. The ACC acts as the State's Public Utility Commission and works on the rate-making process for regulated utilities in Arizona. Our Commission, however, has responsibilities that go beyond traditional public utilities regulation. These include facilitating the incorporation of businesses and organizations, securities regulation and railroad/pipeline safety. I worked with the Commissioners and our nine different divisions to adopt rules and regulations, make executive decisions, and pass judgment in contested matters that the Commission heard.
