Aug. 2022Austin, Texas Metropolitan AreaOur Mission is to build a business ecosystem & a movement around the economic impact of reproductive rights. After Roe vs Wade was overturned, we needed to quickly find a way to spread education around the repercussions of this policy change would mean in traditionally anti-abortion areas of Texas. We ran a successful billboard campaign seen by over 3.1Million Texans over the course of 7 days during the 2022 primaries — shifting the conversation around “what is pro-life?” in 25 of the most red & purple districts. We joined together a group of men & women to take on the “Ending the War on Women (WOW)" - promoting the importance of women's reproductive rights in Texas and beyond. End the WOW was started as a passion project between the founders of Dos Mundos Creative and Cara Caulkins Communications and Born Into This when Roe vs. Wade was overturned. Within the course of 2 months, just through word-of-mouth within our network, we grew the group to over 200 executive business leaders in Texas, with supporters across the nation and grew our core board leadership team to 12 and raised enough money to quickly turn around and run the billboard campaign. The Dos Mundos team's role was go-to-market strategy, media buying & full creative direction, utilizing our team and network we rolled out this important campaign in record time.

Aug. 2010 - Apr. 2014(Formerly LibreDigital, Acquired by RR Donnelley August 2011)Brought in by B2B Publisher services company in 2010 for having expertise in consumer marketing/e-commerce to help launch ventures into the B2C market. Headed up all marketing communications strategies focusing on global brands ranging from the Kardashians, to Sarah Palin to the Harry Potter series and launched a direct to consumers beta pilot testing an online eBook-buying “kiosk” model, designed widgets, set-up marketing campaigns. The results of the campaign gained the confidence from LibreDigital's investor board that the company could market to a consumer audience -- allowing LibreDigital to move forward with plans for the “Netflix for Books” model that aided in the company’s sale to RR Donnelley. Key in creating UX and customer acquisition plans for a "Netflix for books "model which we launched in a private beta in May 2011 at the Book Expo of America in New York City. The beta and customer plans helped gain the confidence of the 3 major publishing houses who signed on for a full launch. Created a merchandizing system to sift through the hundreds of titles received monthly to find the best material for Apple to feature in it's iBookstore. Managed and designed the website and release of our html5 reader demo. Released the site to the sales team at the end of August 2012 and was being used to demonstrate our product to a variety of publishers.

Jan. 2007 - Jul. 2010Helped to excel to the #1 independent eBookstore in the Americas and Europe from a distant unknown player — with little to no marketing budget. Moved company from page 8 to page 1 on Google search for keyword "eBooks". Handled all direct tactical outbound marketing activity ranging from social media moderation initiatives, implementing CRM , guiding improved website UI (both mobile and web) / SEO/ SEM , and developing partnerships and promotions with major publishers, authors as well as brands such as Ogilvy, The Daytime Emmys, The Tyra Banks Show, NASCAR & more. Developed partnerships and promotions with major publishers (including Harlequin and Penguin), popular bloggers, bestselling authors and more. Building brand and revenue that resulted in BooksOnBoard being the 3rd largest brand position in eBooks overall, behind Amazon and Barnes & Noble by March 2010. Recruited, managed and trained up to 16 people on a team at a time, including interns and part-timers for daily social networking, merchandizing, blogging and other promotional activities, while also taking a hands-on approach, to meet the needs of our expanding business and allowing us to grow without breaks in quality. Launched promotions, interview video series and podcasts using 22 top authors from the 2009 Writer’s Conference, which led to additional site visits, accounting for 113% more visits with an 18% conversion to revenue, generating an additional 61% spike in transactions over the following 38 days. Pioneered social marketing for eBook stores when no one else was doing it, launching promotions on Twitter, Facebook and Tumbler. First big success was a joint promotion with author Christine Feehan in September 2009 where I leveraged social networks to sellout of her titles in a few days.

In order to optimize personal skillset and gain insight into what each task in production takes, worked cross-departmentally. This process of understanding of the timing and work that goes into each piece of the production puzzle, laid the groundwork for hardwork ethic, creativity, empathy and respect for the value of each person involved in a project — which I still employ today. During this experience was fortunate enough to work on Oscar and Emmy award-winning shows and films with Terrance Malick, Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt, Peter Berg, Sean Penn, Katy Perry, Ben Harper, Ryan Renolds, Jessica Chastain, Hanson, Ty Sheridan, Claire Danes, Willem Dafoe and many more with cross-departmental focus from art department, production coordination, running basecamp, gripping, animal wrangling, post-production, SFX, etc. — as well as 2 years of rigorous stunt training which resulted in 1 driving stunt due to the writer’s strike.
