Apr. 2016 - Nov. 2022Oslo Area, Norway · HybridAt Xepto, I spearheaded the development of a new admin website for our flagship project, CityGuard, aimed at enhancing wastewater and clean water infrastructure management. My role encompassed the project's lifecycle: planning, testing, building, and engaging with customers to tailor a platform that meets their needs. Initially, I built the backend using PHP with Silex and MySQL, complementing it with a frontend crafted from AngularJS, HTML, and CSS. As the project evolved, the data management demands outgrew PHP's capabilities. I transitioned to Spring Boot with Java, utilizing JPA, Lombok, and Maven to construct a more robust REST API. This shift significantly improved our system's efficiency and scalability, enabling us to handle larger datasets and offer more reliable services. In my final year with Xepto, my focus shifted towards embedded systems, specifically developing the communication protocols for our new board. I implemented MQTT and Spring Boot for data reception, decoding, and database storage, while C programming was used for managing data transmission from I2C to the nRF9160 chip, then outward via MQTT. CityGuard, initially a project within Xepto, grew into its own entity, reflecting its success and the critical role it played in our portfolio. CityGuard stands as a testament to our commitment to environmental protection and infrastructure resilience, utilizing IoT technology to provide vital data for water management, even under extreme conditions. Xepto, at its core, is an IoT pioneer, focusing on delivering sophisticated surveillance, reporting, and alarming solutions for challenging environments like water/wastewater and logistics. Our work harnesses BLE and NB-IoT technologies, ensuring remote, battery-powered systems can offer continuous, reliable monitoring. My journey with Xepto/CityGuard has been a blend of innovation, adaptability, and impact, safeguarding critical infrastructure and the environment.
