Sep. 2011 - Jan. 2012Sabah, MalaysiaI worked as a field researcher at the SAFE project, Malaysian Borneo from Sept 2011-Jan 2012. My work involved living in a jungle camp for this duration and collect data for evaluating the impact of deforestation and oil palm creation on the carbon stocks and forest structure of the forests in Borneo. I have a publication from my research as well: Singh, Minerva; Malhi, Yadvinder and Bhagwat, Shonil (2014). Evaluating land use and aboveground biomass dynamics in an oil palm–dominated landscape in Borneo using optical remote sensing. Journal of Applied Remote Sensing, 8(1) article 083695.
