Jan. 2023 - May. 2023City of Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa · HybridInnovation City is running a program prototype called Innovation Collective or ICollective. With this program we boosted 9 South African startups with knowledge, tools, and most importantly networking opportunities to grow their business. ICollective placed extra emphasis on training habits and rituals that allow the founders and the entrepreneurs to build a high-value, tight knitted community that will serve value long after the program has ended. During the program funds were raised, first customers acquired, news business models discovered, founder conflicts resolved and much more Sadly the client shifted priorities mid-program so a second cohort is on hold for now. Innovation City is a hub of fellow entrepreneurs and Expert Advisors who support and inspire each other in the challenging rollercoaster called Startup Entrepreneurship! ICollective is the logical next step to deepen this network. The program consists of 10 themes, a theme every Monday, starting the 23rd of Jan and ending the 27th of March with a small and intimate graduation event where the founders share their story and learnings of their entrepreneurial journey. Each theme focuses on improving a certain skillset, habit, or mindset. At the end of the day the goal is to have actionable and implementable assets/tools/methodologies to improve their company ASAP. In context of each theme the focus is always on: - Understanding customers better - Sales as a priority - EQ and empathy exercises for relationship building and insight generation

My task was to help the solo founder to help with the technical strategy to support her research requirements whilst also preparing for the commercial future with something scalable. Mapping the brain to maximize human potential in - hiring, high-potential detection, re-skilling, (digital) transformation, and team productivity. AlterEdu developed an analysis methodology to map the cognitive development and potential through an online tool. The method was developed in cooperation with University of Gent in the last 6 years. Mar. 2016 - Mar. 2018Antwerpen, Vlaanderen, BelgiumAt Spotcrowd a Belgium startup that is no more. • My deliverables were essential for €400K of funding (Investors and subsidies) • Responsible for researching and designing the tech, product, and gamification tools • Simulated various project proposals in financial models for viability • The prototype I developed helped get us into Techstars (3000 applicants, 10 openings) • Managed and coached the development team We designed and prototyped a crowd-sourced, live streamed, retail surveillance system. Completely anonymised retail streams would be sent to mechanical turks to be reviewed and sent back to the store within 40 seconds if a theft was detected. The strategy was to create enough training material to automate or augment the mechanical turks for higher efficiency.
