The rules outline the significance of the accreditation process pertaining to accredited persons, while providing for several measures of a qualitative and precautionary nature to ascertain that the pertinent due diligence is carried out at pre-application stage, by qualified and experienced private client and immigration law experts. The role and responsibilities of an accredited person include:
✔ Protecting the long term integrity of the MIIP
✔ Submitting the application on behalf of the client
✔ Timely and accurate control of the funds flow in relation to the financial requirements imposed by the Programme
✔ Undertaking a thorough due diligence process for each prospective applicant The Malta Individual Investor Programme allows for the grant of citizenship by a certificate of naturalization to foreign individuals and their families who contribute to the economic development of Malta.
