Apr. 2019 - Nov. 2020Northwick Park Hospital, London, United KingdomNorthwick Park Hospital (NPH) is part of the London North West University (LNWUH) NHS Trust, which is government run and a major acute hospital located in the London Borough of Brent. It has a total of more than 650 bed capacity and is a tertiary hospital providing a range of services including maternity, neonatal, pediatrics, maxillofacial, orthopedics, neurology, cardiology, elderly care medicine, surgery and a regional hyper-acute rehabilitation unit for patients with additional on-going acute medical needs. It also has a large Accident and Emergency Complex and is one of eight Hyper Acute Stroke Unit (HASU) in London. The Accident and Emergency Department has a 60 bed and 20 chair capacity that is fully integrated into 5 parts: pitstop/ambulance bays, Rapid Assessment Unit (RAU), high dependency unit (HDU) beds, assessment beds, resuscitation rooms, clinical decision unit (CDU), and pediatric beds. The ED department nurse to patient ratio is dependent on the area in which the nurse is assigned on the daily roster: Resus beds is 1:2, HDU is 1:3, assessment bay is 1:4, and CDU bay is 1:5 ratio. Pitstop is responsible for patient triage from ambulance, while RAU is responsible for self-presenting patients as well as patients referred externally e.g. by GPโ€™s, other hospitals, etc.
Clinical Supervisor

Jul. 2017 - Mar. 2019Southall, United KingdomCare UK is a privately-run company which serves a wide range of people across the whole of England and Wales. It is originally a primary care service which takes over from GP practices in the out of hours for better patient access. The company holds a contract with the NHS, the healthcare arm of the government, in the delivery of NHS services such as the NHS 111. NHS 111 is a medical advice line available to all patients in England and Wales as an easy access to clinical advice during unsocial hours when their normal GP Practices are closed. As a Clinical Supervisor, I am leading the shift to ensure that good quality healthcare is being provided to patients. I am also responsible for managing staff performance and audits.
Clinical Advisor

Jan. 2016 - Jun. 2017London, England, United KingdomNHS 111 is a medical advice line available to all patients in England and Wales as an easy access to clinical advice during unsocial hours when their normal GP Practices are closed. As a clinical advisor for the NHS 111 service, one of my responsibilities is to conduct a clinical assessment and triage on patients over the phone. Clinical advisors ensure a safe and quality triage and assessment so that patients can have access to available services that they may require e.g. ambulance, emergency department, urgent care or get advice for minor ailments that they can manage at home. Using clinical pathways, I am able to reach a safe disposition, whether to give CPR instructions, send an ambulance for an emergency, send a referral to the Emergency department, book appointments with out of hours GP within 2 or 6 hour targets, or give clinical advice for home management if based on the assessment done, none of the previous services are necessary. This prevents services such as hospitals or ambulance calls to be inundated with patients who does not need to be there and allows a safe and quality health care access to everyone who requires it.
