May. 2012 - Aug. 2016Cape Town Area, South AfricaAs head of sports marketing in South Africa innovation, impact and perfect execution, underpinned by solid strategy, was the core of the role. With the support and drive of an amazing team, we brought to life large scale global events such as Red Bull X Fighters, Red Bull Flugtag and Red Bull Campus Cricket. In 2015, my team was honored to receive the “Best Live Experience” award at the Discovery Sports Awards in Johannesburg for Red Bull X Fighters. It was an honor to work with some of the best extreme, non-mainstream, mainstream and adventure sports athletes in South Africa and around the world. My time at Red Bull was full of incredible experiences and valuable lessons that i have taken forward on both a personal and professional level.

Jan. 2006 - Dec. 2012Durban, Kwa Zulu NatalFounded in 2006, IMPI Concept Events came from humble beginnings. Originally Tall Man Events and off the back of the co-founding of the Berg&Bush Stage Mountain Bike race, I soon realised the potential a well rounded events company would present to the market. After working with Stuart Berry on the launch of Berg&Bush, we decided to form a business as a collective. Enter IMPI Concept Events. Over the years IMPI went from being a specialist events logistics solution to a full through the line events solution in the sports, lifestyle and entertainment space. We offered clients everything from concept development to execution, event logistics solutions, sponsorship, brand activation, media & film and brand management. Our events portfolio extended across some of SA's largest - Cape Epic, Berg&Bush, Dusi Canoe Marathon, Fish Canoe Marathon, Comrades Marathon, Karkloof Classic, Mr Price Pro, Wild Series, UCI Mountain Bike World Cup and Champs and Pietermaritzburg Day to name a few. In 2012 I sold my shares and took up my role at Red Bull as Head of Sports Marketing. IMPI continues to thrive and has recently acquired a large stake in SA's oldest music festival, Splashy Fen.

Absa Cape EpicLogistics & Branding Management

Jan. 2005 - Dec. 2009Cape Town, Western Cape, South AfricaDuring my time as a contractor to the Cape Epic, I served in various roles. During my first years at the event I was one of a team of 5 people responsible for transporting the broadcast camera crew around on quad bikes covering the main race action. The following two years I found myself as the signage manager for all towns, spectators points and race villages. I then moved on to a branding manager role where I coordinated and executed the full branding activation of the race with a team of 12 crew. Working in these roles allowed me to really understand event logistics and operations on a large scale. This set my operational foundation when moving into the events industry as IMPI Concept Events.
