Jul. 2011 - Jul. 2024New York, NYDuring my time at Bloomberg I have had the opportunity work work as a b-roll editor, craft editor on Avid Media Composer, and also to become a guide to my colleagues. I've recently been working as a video liaison helping to gather the best new material for Bloomberg TV to use on the air and online. In that role I meet with news and programming directors as well as upper level producers to brainstorm and discuss what material we need most. I've also given presentations on what makes for the best video to use, the importance of quality control, as well as teaching my colleagues to navigate our cataloging system. I'm also the go to guy when there is breaking news. When we need to start churning out material, I am the first person the people in the newsroom are looking to for getting the video we need on the air. All of these responsibilities helped me become an expert at multi-tasking. In addition to doing editing, I also produce stories. I really enjoy working with photographers, reporters and editors to create a story. With my experience, I stand out as a producer because I've achieved a certain mastery of what shooters and editors need to hear to understand what I'm looking for. I've been complimented by co-workers for providing what they call, "good customer service" because of my strong ability to communicate and deliver what they need.. That's something I take pride in.

After working somewhere else, usually CNN, I would drive out to Long Island and work on packages for their programs. It was a lot of fun, and gave me a chance to really experiment as an editor. I worked on Final Cut Pro and peppered in Motion whenever I could to add a little something extra to my pieces. I think they often really stood out.

From your typical tasks like editing packages, sots and VOs, to tuning in satellites, ENG trucks and collecting feeds from all over the world. News 12 was a great foundation for my career. In addition to learning how to do all of the jobs I mentioned, I also learned how to fix each of them when something went wrong, or more typically, do them with very little time to spare. I also got my first opportunities to field produce and edit stories that I would pitch. Several were even nominated for Emmy awards.
