More in depth, commercially focused projects have also been carried out in Australia, USA, Canada and many other “developed” tourism countries in regions of the world. The consultants that are the core team inside of Blue Skies Consultancy Group have over 180 years of tourism experience with cross sector experience and higher management responsibilities. Many have both private and public sector experience with the national tourism boards of various countries relating to engagement and strategy. As the new office grows, more regional consultants will be added where there is a requirement and where they add value to Blue Skies Consultancy Group (South Africa) clients in the Sub Saharan region.

It takes the spirit and legacy of the sport that officially started in 1972 and is held in high regard by the regulatory bodies, the International Sailing Federation (ISAF) and the World Speed Sailing Record Council (WSSRC) and gives its rightful place on the sailing calendar. Speed sailing really started when man first set sail, pitting their skills against Mother Nature to harness as much as possible from her to go as fast as possible. Being competitive beasts the question was and always will be” who is the fastest?”. Nowadays with modern timing equipment, media coverage and the World Wide Web bringing this spectacle of Man against the elements to the audience is much easier and exiting. With the world speed sailing record currently standing at 55.65 knots, over 100 kilometres per hour. This is not a sport for passive participants, the riders in this arena know they are pushing themselves and their equipment beyond what it was designed for in the pure quest for speed. Make no mistake this is a high adrenaline sport. It is an open sport to any sailing craft. In the last 5 years it has been held by a Windsurfer, and 50 foot hydro foiling Catamaran, and now a Kitesurfer. Who knows what will be next? Only competition at the highest level will decide.
