Feb. 2021 - Jun. 2024Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, MalaysiaI served as the Chief Negotiator for the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) and the Malaysia-New Zealand Free Trade Agreement. I successfully led the ratification and implementation of the CPTPP for Malaysia. My leadership was also instrumental in directing the CPTPP Cost-Benefit Analysis for the country. I led the Malaysian delegation in the UK's CPTPP accession negotiations and spearheaded the successful expansion of the Malaysia-Turkiye FTA, which now includes Trade in Services, Investment, and e-Commerce. As the lead negotiator for the Trade Pillar of the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF), I played a pivotal role in achieving the Ministerial Statement in September 2022. Additionally, I provided oversight for all ongoing FTA negotiations, monitored their implementation, and guided the review and expansion of these agreements. I also provided mentorship to junior negotiators and led the Trade in Services negotiations for the ASEAN-China FTA.

Feb. 2020 - Jan. 2021Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, MalaysiaI successfully led the drafting of the APEC Putrajaya Vision 2040, a cornerstone achievement during Malaysia's Chairmanship of APEC in 2020. Additionally, I spearheaded the development of the 2020 Kuala Lumpur Declaration, endorsed by APEC's Economic Leaders, and the APEC Ministerial Meeting (AMM) Statement, issued by the Trade and Foreign Affairs Ministers. I also guided the creation of two pivotal statements addressing trade and COVID-19, issued by the APEC Ministers Responsible for Trade (MRT). Throughout these initiatives, I also played a crucial role in steering all 21 APEC Economies towards consensus, overseeing the related discussions under the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI).

Successfully completed the Social Enterprise Accreditation Guidelines which presently serves as the sole tool for certifying social enterprises in Malaysia. I also led the speech-writing team for the then Minister of MEDAC.
