I am also proud to announce that Rekisa was selected as one of the 70 African Startups that were part of the Google for Startups Cohort 2022. We began by recruiting students to work part-time at events, but through this discipline, we identified a new opportunity to expand into brand activations. We went on to serve major brands such as British American Tobacco, South African Breweries, Orange, JTI, and Discovery Health. Thanks to our work with global brands, I had the privilege of working in countries such as Australia, Portugal, Kenya, Nigeria, Namibia, Mozambique, and Zambia. I left the role at the end of 2019.

My focus was on the Urban Degree brand, where I began as a stylist serving clients. After six months in that role, I progressed into management positions, where I honed my leadership skills and advanced within the business. I was responsible for managing several stores across Johannesburg, including the Clearwater store, Fourways, Hyde Park, Sandton, and Rosebank. I left the company to start my first business.
