Baker HughesLead Software Engineer - Digital Technology, Processes & Selection Tools
Oct. 2014Florence, Tuscany, ItalyLead development & maintenance of turbomachinery design and selection software used by application, design and R&D engineers. Increase engineering study productivity, reduce bid cycle times.
Analyze user requirements and coordinate technical specifications, User Acceptance Test, budget allocation to developer teams, continuous development and integration, compliance with cyber security practices and connection with Solution Architects. Prioritize developments according to best impact on final end-customer and commercial/application teams reactivity. Tool ownerships and projects:
- Drive Okta authentication onboarding of 30 applications; act as subject matter expert for other teams and 3rd parties
- Radial turbo-expander selector: led disrupting porting from inadapted architecture and confused coding to high-quality engineering tool, in challenging low-investment situation
- Antisurge Loop Optimization Tool (for centrifugal compressor valves)
- Substitute legacy computational models with modular, flexible, agnostic digital solver for industrial plants including LNG, Ethylene, Cogeneration, Combined Cycles (steam and ORC), Pressure Let Down
- Taxonomy, attributes, and dictionary upgrades of PLM mechanical components catalog, based on CADENAS and ECLASS
- Maintain and improve reference code and libraries for real gas thermodynamic computations in Baker Hughes IET Engineering organization. Proof of Concept for Julia language introduction, introduction of NIST models Support worldwide technical and commercial functions (EMEA, China, India, North America) in bids and jobs with complex selections involved.
