Work Background
Strategic Communication Manager - Land Capability Division (Australian Army)
Australian ArmyStrategic Communication Manager - Land Capability Division (Australian Army)
Nov. 2001 - Mar. 2023Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, AustraliaSince 2001 I have worked across part-time and full-time roles within strategic communication within Army and broader Defence. As a Staff Officer Grade 1 in Public Affairs, I have covered all aspects of communication, media engagement and public affairs including on operations, within 2 Division, Joint Operations, Forces Command and Land Capability Division. My unique focus is utilising a standing campaign approach to communication planning which has been adopted around the Land Combat Vehicle Program. I was privileged to have worked with a contracted specialised team and a subject matter expert on this Program. The standing campaign approach focuses heavily on the narrative/counter-narrative balance following a process of informing/educating while strongly countering incorrect narratives before changing and promoting correct narratives. My skills also extend to generating the general range of political documents including Minsterial documents, media alerts/releases, sequences of events and overarching communication packs.
