Advise various boards and commissions on compliance with California's open
meetings laws, reviewing meeting notices and agendas for compliance with the law.
Review public assistance grant appeals letters for legal issues and advise on citations to the Code of Federal Regulations and other sources of law.
Draft proclamations and executive orders related to major disasters and emergencies for signature by the Governor.
Respond to Public Records Act requests, often involving requests that impact multiple state and federal agencies, identifying documents or information that are exempt from disclosure and working with requesters to tailor the scope of their request so that they get what they are seeking.
Manage litigation involving the Office of Emergency Services (OES), providing liaison between the Office of the Attorney General and OES leadership.
