The spring wheat program is targetted at multiple markets across countries, looking for both high yielding and high quality lines. The winter barley program is targetted at the 2 row winter barley looking at feed and malting types. I am involved in the preparation of seed, field layout, drilling of seed, field selection (agronomics and phenotyping), quality testing, cross selection and the making of new crosses. I have also been given the resposibility of running and managing some of these tasks. I am also involved in collaborative R&D projects, and try to keep my skills in genetics (and associated topics) and phenotying up-to-date.
