Sep. 2019 - Sep. 2025Milton Keynes, England, United KingdomAs CEO, I led Play Action International through one of the most challenging periods in its history - the global COVID-19 pandemic - ensuring the organisation remained resilient, innovative, and impact-driven. In 2020, I was honoured to be recognised as an Inspiring Leader (C-Suite) by Inspiring Workplaces, joining a global list of 55 leaders acknowledged for demonstrating four essential leadership qualities during the crisis: being humane, courageous, communicative, and empowering others to reach their potential. Impact and achievements: - Delivered transformational programmes across Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, South Sudan, Ghana, Romania, and the UK, creating opportunities for children through playgrounds, Early Childhood Development centres, and teacher training.
- Secured and delivered projects funded by leading international partners, including DFID/FCDO, UNICEF, Save the Children, World Vision, and in partnership with local governments.
- Championed an approach to education that is engaging, inclusive, and future-focused, ensuring children not only access schooling but thrive within it.
- Strengthened organisational resilience and positioned the charity for future growth despite the uncertainty of the pandemic.
- Delivered international volunteering programmes in partnership with UK Universities leading to multiple awards including: RAD Awards 2019 Winner of Challenge, Ethics & Sustainability Award, NASFA Charity of the Year 2022, Warwick RAG Best Charity partner 2022, Loughborough RAG Charity Partner of the Year 2023 and VAMOOS Biggest Impact Award 2023. This role reinforced my belief that education must go beyond access - it must engage, inspire, and empower children to build brighter futures.
