Work Background
Campaign Manager
Joe Koehler for City CouncilCampaign Manager
Jul. 2023 - May. 2024Baltimore, Maryland, United States
Accounting Associate
Wildfire ContactAccounting Associate
May. 2022 - Nov. 2022On a short-term contract through the election, I managed five campaign accounts across the country - successfully winning 100% of the races - for Wildfire, a full-service communications firm that focuses on direct mail. I contributed to strategy sessions on campaigns and used project management tools like Monday.com and Box.com to manage our fast-paced timeline. Our team created digital ads for a few of my clients. I was able to gain valuable experience working directly with clients on multiple projects at the same time.
Outreach Director
Hilltop Public SolutionsOutreach Director
Aug. 2019 - Dec. 2021Greater Boston AreaMy main client while at Hilltop was National Grid and I worked with them to streamline communications focused on newsletters, social media monitoring, open houses, procuring local community leaders' endorsement, door-to-door canvassing, and conflict resolution. Even though we had to navigate a challenging situation between the Town of Wakefield and our client, National Grid, we collaborated with each entity to inform the community about the project. My tenure ended due to a personal move out of state.
Field Organizer
Stand for ChildrenField Organizer
Feb. 2019 - Aug. 2019Greater Boston AreaI was hired to oversee regional advocacy organizing in MA for Stand for Children - a member-driven non-profit fighting for education equity and racial justice - and expand their reach state-wide to pass Bill H.586, the Equitable Funding Formula. In the first three months, I increased the organization's reach by 40% by converting 250+ supporters into members by influencing them to sign petitions, attend events supporting the bill, write Op-eds, and help organize the Equitable Funding Rally. We organized five brand new areas of the state, all with economically diverse populations. Thoughtful messaging and communications were a crucial part of our success. I recruited two supporters to undergo media training to speak effectively before the MA State Education Committee and local media to support the bill. I used social media to gain support and share our message more effectively.
Campaign Manager
Jeanne Dietsch for NH SenateCampaign Manager
Feb. 2018 - Nov. 2018Peterborough, New HampshireI came on earlier than most campaigns for the state senate because we both understood it would be a long race and we needed to hit the ground running. Due to my extra time and campaign strategy, Jeanne won her three-way primary between a former Gubernatorial candidate and a beloved local farmer by over 54%. New Hampshire primary elections are only a month and a half from the general election, which meant reaching out to Republican strongholds during the primary was a crucial part of the campaign to ensure we had a leg up for the general election. We had a robust outreach strategy throughout the primary, out door-knocking our primary opponents 3-1. We created a messaging plan, including Youtube commercials posted on social media, digital ads, direct mailers, and a monthly newsletter. We won the general election by 52% due to the name ID the campaign built up through the primary and the partnerships we built with local Democratic committees to gather resources for all local races in a cohesive, strategically aligned coalition.
Campaign Manager
Peggy Gilmour for State SenateCampaign Manager
Jul. 2016 - Nov. 2016Nashua, New HampshireI was hired to run Gilmour’s campaign, a 3-time state senate rep in an R+10 district, for the last five months, losing by only .19% in a landslide Republican election year. I created a campaign strategy that leveraged all the candidates’ relationships in social and local media to increase name recognition by 75%, which resulted in raising $150,000, a 20% increase over prior campaign cycles. I increased volunteers by 60% month-over-month by coordinating a strategically aligned social media presence, canvassing, and partnerships with another campaign.
Canvass Director
David Trone for CongressCanvass Director
Mar. 2016 - May. 2016Carroll County, MarylandI was hired to run Trone’s paid canvassing program in Carrol County, in a 9-person primary, for the last three months. We came in second with 27%, winning Carrol County by 65%. I built a paid canvassing program from scratch with 100+ organizers. I created a training program that boosted the ability to retain hired organizers, which successfully retained 60% more staff than in any other area of the campaign.
Field Organizer
NextGen ClimateField Organizer
Nov. 2015 - Feb. 2016Sioux City, Iowa AreaNext-Gen is non-profit fighting for 50% clean energy by 2030, pushing politicians to commit to the #50by30 pledge. I was hired after the last director was let go, rebuilding relationships with organizations to have as many presidential candidates commit to clean energy 50by30. In three months, we held 40+ events, with a total budget of $4,000, to raise awareness for climate change with 50+ volunteers.
Shapiro/Aarkoosh for County Commissioner
Field OrganizerShapiro/Aarkoosh for County Commissioner
Aug. 2015 - Nov. 2015Montgomery County, PAShapiro & Arkoosh were running for re-election and aimed to flip all county-wide positions to the democratic party. The campaign was ahead of the curve in voter outreach. It flipped every county-wide seat from red to blue in Montgomery County by using a persuasive letter campaign to target Republicans.
Camapaign Manager
Kym Best for County CommissionerCamapaign Manager
Mar. 2015 - Jul. 2015Northumberland County, PAKym was a local attorney who reminded me of myself when I ran for school board. She wanted to make a difference in Northumberland County, my former home county. I created the communications and field program. Voters in the area were used to a different type of campaign, and I changed how races were run by having a robust door-knocking plan, along with Op-Eds and events to encourage constituents to get involved with their local government. An article was written after the primary explaining that our campaign was the only one with a county-wide strategy.
