This is a subscription service with a mandate to provide credibly and trusted information for businesses looking to operate in the Middle East and Africa. As Director, my day consist of developing networks and managing various activities to deliver a sustainable business. We provide market forecasts, so companies can see which sectors and markets have the most potential and then find the right partner to act on those opportunities. Part of the product is a detailed cost breakdown structure for various asset classes down to the main cost elements. This allows us to forecast demand for critical commodities across multiple markets. Add in the commodity supply levels, and we can identify opportunities where demand exceeds supply. I have developed a strong team responsible for product development (content and UI), marketing and commercial activities. I represent the business at all levels of engagement.

Launched the first roundtable event in March 2019 in Kenya focusing on renewable energy in East Africa. Followed up with a series of events on renewable energy, housing and water projects in Kenya, Rwanda and Namibia. My duties included managing all aspects of the business, including the content, marketing and logistics teams.

Responsible for CAPEX & OPEX development and management, including complete product redevelopment and migration to WordPress. Developed MEED Cost Indices (MCI). Full CAPEX & OPEX responsibility. MCI offered subscribers unparalleled access to construction cost data which significantly contributes to project feasibility, and market transparency, enable escalation forecast, and benchmark construction costs using a Tender Price Index (TPI).

Proleads had experienced researchers and consultants working with companies to identify their business's key drivers, improve their processes, implement best practices, or collect and use market data. As co-founder, my key responsibilities included content and product development. Later I assumed the role of General Manager with full P & L responsibility. I held this position until Proleads was sold to a UK-based business in 2010.

May. 2001 - Sep. 2004DubaiI worked on a project tracker that was later sold to EMAP and is now known as MEED Projects. Initial responsibilities included base-level research on CAPEX projects in Oman, Qatar & UAE. This role developed into a product development and management role.

Jan. 1995 - May. 2001Rosebank, South AfricaAfter my studies, I started my career at Sasol. Initially, I worked at Synthol Mechanical looking after shutdown planning. During this time I developed a live critical path tracker that indicated any changes to the critical path. Executed 14,000 activities over a 2-week period. Reduced the critical path from 21 days to 11 days saving millions. Moved across to central planning before taking a maintenance role at KB mechanical. Moved across to Sasol Technology as an Estimator working on CAPEX projects across the globe before taking on the role of principal technologist working on the rolling-capital plan across the Sasol Group of companies.
