Worked closely with research department in refining the Panasonic encoder. Was awarded Bluray Grand Prize – Best Picture Quality (Live Action Movie) 2010 for Japanese release of “Braveheart” (Japanese release thru 20th Century Fox). Also worked on other high profile Bluray titles, such as Avatar, Titanic, Cleopatra, and numerous others. Besides Bluray encoding, also encoded audio for Bluray, using both DTS and Dolby encoders. Did editing and sound design for Panasonic promos utilizing Pro Tools. Did some audio restoration work for some projects. Designed and installed QC and audio bays for the facility. Also designed, coordinated, and implemented the construction of PHL's main showroom, utilizing a 103 inch plasma, a projection system, and a 7.1 multi-channel sound system showcasing Panasonic's product line and Bluray disc mastering. Scheduled projects among for the compression team. Did bitbudgets for both Bluray and DVD. Besides Bluray encoding, also did small format video compression and editing for proprietary mobile video (E-Move). Taught other compressionists on how to use the encoders. Cross- trained QA, Authoring, and Project Managers concerning compression and all aspects of our production process. Was called upon to represent Panasonic during media events and tours at the facility and was interviewed several times by various news agencies.
