Role Overview: As a Business Reviewer at SDTC, I played a crucial role in evaluating and supporting projects that had the potential to transform the clean technology landscape in Canada. I was responsible for assessing the viability, impact, and scalability of proposed projects, ensuring they aligned with SDTC's mission and strategic goals. Key Responsibilities: Project Evaluation: I conducted thorough reviews of project proposals, assessing their technical feasibility, market potential, and alignment with SDTC's sustainability objectives. Due Diligence: I performed detailed due diligence on project applicants, including financial analysis, risk assessment, and compliance checks. Reporting: I prepared comprehensive evaluation reports and recommendations for funding decisions, presenting my findings to SDTC's management. AS OF March 2025 SDTC programming has transitioned to the National Research Council of Canada (NRC). This new programming under NRC IRAP will continue to provide critical support for Canadian cleantech companies. So what is GBCI Canada? GBCI Canada was launched in February 2018 as a joint venture between Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI) and the Canada Green Building Council (CAGBC). GBCI Canada was formed to accelerate green building market transformation and impact in Canada, which is the second largest market for LEED outside of the United States. GBCI Canada exclusively administers project certifications and professional credentials and certificates within the framework of the LEED green building rating systems, the WELL Building Standard, the Sustainable SITES Initiative (SITES) for land use,TRUE Zero Waste certification, Investor Confidence Project (ICP) for energy efficiency retrofits, and the GRESB benchmark, which is used by institutional investors to improve the sustainability performance of the global property sector.
