Continuously monitoring vital signs, during flight. Administering emergency interventions as needed to stabilize the patient. Medical Equipment Handling in a confined space and potentially turbulent conditions. Ensuring the patient's airway remains open, and managing breathing support if the patient is intubated or requires ventilation. Work with the flight paramedics, physicians, and other medical professionals to provide the best care during transport. This often involves real-time communication with the receiving facilityโs medical team to ensure a smooth handover. Responsible for making decisions about patient transport priorities, including whether a patient is stable enough to be moved or if alternate interventions are needed.Administering critical medications under, adjusting dosages as needed for the patient's condition. Providing immediate care for trauma patients, often in high-stress conditions. Account for factors like lower oxygen levels at high altitudes, temperature variations, and turbulence, adjusting care accordingly. Ensure that the patient is secured properly for the flight, minimizing the risk of injury and ensuring comfort during transport. Emotional Support to patients and families in a stressful, sometimes traumatic, situation. Provide family members with information about what to expect during transport and after arrival at the receiving facility. Patient Handover Upon arrival, provide a detailed handover to the receiving team, including all interventions, medications, and assessments made during transport.Maintain accurate, comprehensive records of patient care during the flight, which will be crucial for follow-up treatment. Follow all safety protocols for both the patient and crew. Participate in ongoing simulation and emergency drills to stay prepared for the demanding flight environment.
