Jul. 2014Dar es Salaam, TanzaniaOur current projects are: 1. N I S I T I R I P r o j e c t : A primary and secondary school student in Tanzania need to attend school for at least 194 days which has 1,740 classes in one academic year. But, it is the opposite with girl-students who at least miss school for 84 days, meaning 756 classes, in a year. At least 1,000 girls in Matelefu, Igombavanu and Mapogolo villages in Mufindi distrist, Iringa region are missing school every month during their periods because they cannot afford sanitary pads. Through N I S I T I R I C a m p a i g n by Lorna Dadi Foundation, we are determined to provide free reusable sanitary pads to 1000 girls by July this year. Kindly join the campaign by buying one copy of a Swahili novel titled Vipande vya Maisha Vilivyopotea (The Lost Life Pieces), thats goes for 15,000 Tshs ($7) where 30% of each sale will go toward buying one reusable sanitary pack for one girl. 2. Project I.A.A.M (It's All About Me): This is a girl-child centred project targeting in and out of school adolescent girls. The aim is to create awareness on how temporary adolescence challenges can cause life long consequences to a girls' life.
