DMWR was appointed as Sainsbury's Eastern England region's architect in delivering new build stores in the selected region. My main roles/responsibilities in the team which includes Client/LPA presentations, elevation design proposals, planning and design liasion with Consultants on the Eastern Region team. Project involved ranges from Feasibility to Planning stage. Key projects:
▫️ New Store, Ely, Cambridgeshire (46,000 sq. ft + Café & Under croft Parking):
- Oversaw the project from the feasibility stage to practical completion.
- Created and implemented a custom supermarket located within a conservation area.
- Accountable for conducting feasibility studies, schematic design, elevation design, detailed design, and coordinating the site during construction. - The project received commendations from councillors at the planning committee.
- Successfully launched the first Environmental Technology Sainsbury’s store, featuring advanced high-efficiency lighting in collaboration with GE Technology, focusing on low-carbon solutions. ▫️ New Store, Cambridge – University Development Site (20,000 sq. ft):
- Feasibility study for a new retail unit within a key university expansion area.
- Formulated a concept for shell and core delivery, incorporating an integrated internal fit-out strategy. ▫️ New Store, Saffron Walden (40,000 sq. ft + Café & Car Parking):
- Managed the design process from post-feasibility to the planning application stage, which includes compilation of comprehensive planning application package, including a Design & Access Statement and design brochures.
- Responsible for elevation concepts and established the external architectural identity
