I've been in business 34 years. UK, Middle East, Southeast Asia — building things, fixing things, closing deals and occasionally doing all three at once. The role that shaped me most was running a property, hospitality and F&B group in Southeast Asia. I came in as a shareholder and President Director when there were 25 people. We left with 700, $350M in transactions done, five luxury developments built and eight brands launched. It was a proper education. These days I work as a fractional executive and deal architect. Companies bring me in when something important is happening, a new market, a deal that needs structuring, a commercial function that needs someone who's been in the room before.
