Jan. 2017Zuleika Lebow is a contemporary fine artist born and raised in London. A graduate of the BA Fine Art course at Middlesex University, her work centres on themes of identity, race, the sick body and lexicon via sculpture, photography and writing. Utilising philosophical texts, popular culture, sci-fi and esoterica as starting points, she creates spaces, events and artworks which facilitate a different approach to discussions of class, race, gender and language. Lebow is currently the Course Tutor on MA Applied Imagination at Central St Martins, where she empowers students to become creative change-makers and encourages them to move beyond the predictable when it comes to engaging with the world. Recent projects include: 'Dining In' - The Portico Library, Panel Member 'Is Technology Serving Communities the Best it Could?'- Late At Tate Britain, 'This is Not a Lemon' - Plas Bodfa, Guest Editorship with Disability Arts Online, Creative Respondent for Decolonizing Decarbonisation at CHEAD, 'Creative Approaches' Lecture - Peckham Platform.
