Barnstable Public SchoolsMiddle School Math and Science Teacher
Jan. 2009 - Oct. 2025Julie is back in the classroom after stepping away to take on a one year position of Grant Project Manager at Barnstable Intermediate School, a 6th and 7th grade school on Cape Cod. Julie’s primary responsibilities as project manager were to create content for the discovery phase of MyCAP, provide training and support with software platforms such as Xello and ASA/Engage, design and run focus groups to gather input and feedback on redesign strategies, expand community partnerships, and coordinate student showcases and 21st Century Days. Julie holds a B.A. in Economics, a M.Ed. in Middle School Science and is currently pursuing her Ed.D at Northeastern University. Through her experiences in both the business and academic worlds, she has seen first hand the importance of exploring skills, talents and passions at a young age. Skills used by middle school students, at home and in the classroom, are the same skills needed in today’s workforce. As educators, it is our responsibility to help students explore their skills, talents and passions to open up a multitude of opportunities for each student’s future and to help them find their “why” behind their schooling.
