Dec. 2024 - Apr. 2025Kampala, Central Region, UgandaAssessment and Planning: Evaluate existing IPC strategies within healthcare facilities and communities, identifying areas for strengthening to address Mpox risks. • Protocol Development: In collaboration with WHO and other partners, update IPC protocols aligned with regional and global guidelines, focusing on effective prevention measures to reduce healthcare-associated Mpox transmission. • Stakeholder Engagement: Coordinate with IMT members and external partners to ensure alignment of IPC efforts and promote shared resources and knowledge. • Training and Capacity Building: Develop and deliver training sessions for healthcare workers and community leaders on IPC measures for Mpox, including safe handling and disposal practices, PPE usage, and patient isolation. • Monitoring and Evaluation: Design and implement monitoring frameworks to assess IPC compliance and impact. This includes adapting existing monitoring tools (e.g., checklists, audits) and collecting data on healthcare-associated Mpox transmission. • Data Management: Analyse data on IPC implementation to identify gaps and trends, and recommend adjustments to improve IPC outcomes. • Reporting: Prepare periodic reports summarizing IPC activities, challenges, achievements, and recommendations to improve IPC measures.
