Timothy Brandon Thompson is a senior education leader and learning systems strategist with more than 10 years of experience designing, scaling, and governing high-impact education programs across federal, state, and nonprofit contexts. His work sits at the intersection of education policy, curriculum and instructional design, workforce and career readiness, and large-scale program implementation, with a demonstrated record of delivering measurable outcomes in complex, regulated environments. Timothy has held senior leadership roles within the U.S. Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA), where he provided enterprise-level oversight of PK–12 Career and Technical Education (CTE), supervised multidisciplinary subject-matter expert teams, managed multi-million-dollar contract portfolios, and guided curriculum, assessment, and professional learning initiatives serving military-connected students worldwide. As a first-level supervisor and program manager, he led strategic planning, budget development, policy implementation, contract execution, and performance monitoring to ensure initiatives met schedule, quality, and compliance benchmarks. In addition to federal service, Timothy has led education policy and advocacy efforts in the charter and innovation school space, building and sustaining high-trust relationships with state education agencies, charter authorizers, policymakers, and community stakeholders. He has designed state-specific authorization strategies, coordinated coalition-building efforts, and translated regulatory and political complexity into actionable pathways that increased approval likelihood and enabled organizational growth. His ability to align internal product, legal, and academic teams with external policy realities has been central to successful expansion efforts.
