Reported directly to the Group CEO- leading a team of 15 direct reports across marketing, design and communication verticals. Hired as a brand manager and promoted to head the brand extension into a direct-to-consumer offering. Tasked with establishing Cellulant as a global brand.
- Established the marketing department from the ground up and provided strategic direction and leadership on brand, marketing and communications across 18 countries in Africa;
- Established Cellulant as a leading Pan-African payments brand with minimal investment;
- Led efforts in diversifying the companies brand portfolio from a single brand into 3 brands
- Worked in conjunction with cross-functional groups to enhance existing products and develop/launch new products;
- Launched the company's first consumer payment product in 8 countries;
- Spearheaded PR efforts to raise the company profile including the 2018 $47.SM investment announcement;
- Responsible for crisis communication management including the 2019 terror attack in Nairobi;
- Partnered with People, Growth and Leadership teams to drive a change in organizational culture and developed the company’s first-ever Culture Code;
- Managed impact & ESG monitoring for the business as part of investor relations;
